Office Space managed to perfectly capture an essence of the 90’s. More specifically, it spoke to the growing mass of people who felt like they were stuck behind a computer doing mindless paperwork – deprived of meaning and slowly alienated from oneself. The same ideas touched upon in The Matrix and Fight Club, both of which came out the same year. Contrary to these action-heavy films, Office Space is the quintessential cubicle comedy, depicting the mundane ins and outs of office life. Not only is it rich in witty dialogue and solid one-liners, but also scenes dealing with the universal frustration of jammed printers and nightmare bosses, which are accompanied by the beats of Geto Boys, Scarface, and Ice Cube. The result is unforgettable.

There is no doubt why this film, 20 years later, still rings true on far too many levels. A true cult-classic immortalized through pop culture and model memes. So, um, yeahhh…. if you could just go ahead and… watch this film…that’d be greeat.
